Fabulous Summer Events

We have had a fabulous summer of events and we are very proud of our students, leaders and wonderful team of volunteers and staff.

  • 17th May 2015 Monday evening Performing Arts Group performed a panto style devised piece ‘What is Love’?  The costumes, the characters, the singing and dancing created the most wonderful atmosphere to a packed out audience, OH YES THEY DID!!
  • 6th June 2015 Swinging 60’s Fashion Show created by Caroline and the Art, Fashion and Craft Group. This event was supported in a variety of ways by the other Interakt groups, session, leaders and volunteers.  The DJ/VJ group created the play list, lights and visual effects. The Ballroom Group choreographed a number of 60’s style routines for all of us to enjoy.  The Art group put together 60’s style displays, mood boards and created 60’s fashions to model down the cat walk. The Thursday and Friday Groups took part with their fashion statements, modelled down the cat walk and explored the art of 60’s style mosaics.
  • 5th July 2015 Newbury Carnival where the Ballroom Group performed 4 of their latest dances supported by their session leader Liam Lockhart and a wonderful team of volunteers and staff. We then joined the procession and danced to the wonderful rhythms of the African team parading in front of us. Great day and a wonderful success!
  • 25th July 2015 Newbury Cultural Festival where the Ballroom Group were performing again supported by their session leader Liam Lockhart and a wonderful team of volunteers and staff.

The Citizenship Challenge

Thank you to our latest partners The Citizenship Challenge. Your feedback exclaiming the bright and positive experience your secondary students and staff have had with us is very encouraging. To hear you say that Interakt staff and participants have been impacted beyond their expectations is a credit to our staff. We hope that this will be a long lasting legacy for your students and we would welcome their input in the near future.

Welcome to our newest Volunteers

Chris D and Maris K. You are wonderful ladies and we are very grateful that you have come on board to share your enthusiasm, professional, creative and practical wealth of experience.

Welcome our Apprentice

Tash Rawlings began as a volunteer just a few months ago and has now officially started her apprenticeship course with Interakt. Well done Tash, we can’t wait to see what you will do with all this creative and practical knowledge.
